Education

In the education sector our broad collaborative approach ensures that we listen to the students and teachers alongside liaising with administration and the design teams.

Understanding the different emphasis required within the masterplan for primary, secondary or tertiary education projects are key to their success. However all schemes share the need for a quality of environment to engender pride in the school. The principles of 'Learning through Landscapes' can be interpreted for all age ranges, with the provision of outdoor teaching spaces, and the use of landscape as a teaching resource is applicable across the curriculum.

Spatial arrangements must allow passive supervision of students, but at the same time provide a comfortable and secure environment that encourages both social and environmental interaction within a safe but stimulating environment; not just space for play but space for thought.

Our wide experience includes new build secondary BSF projects, university campus and administrative centres, along with major refurbishment projects, and at the smaller scale primary and nursery schools. The works undertaken ranges from MUGA facilities, hard and grass courts and pitches, outdoor classrooms, external exhibition space, amphitheatres, teaching gardens, year group gardens, fruit and vegetable areas, wildlife spaces and playgrounds.
