Cheltenham Civic Awards Lecture

Sue Illman, Illman Young Landscape Design was delighted to be invited to give a lecture last week to the Cheltenham Civic Society. Landscape Architecture - Past, Present and Future was a fascinating journey through the years of influences, styles and attitudes to landscape architecture.
The lecture followed the presentaton of the 2011 Cheltenham Civic Awards by Cheltenham Borough Council. The awards recognise standards of excellence in the restoration of historic buildings and works in the field of improvement in Cheltenham's built environment.

Sue Illman of Illman Young Landscape Design will be one of the speakers at Ecobuild this year during the 2pm seminar, Infrastructure: Planning for the Future.
Sue's lecture, Integrated Sustainable Design Solutions for Modular Neighbourhoods Developer Guidelines - A demonstration project for WNDC Sustainable Water Design, follows the LI launch of the first-ever Guide for Clients at Ecobuild in London this Wednesday 21 March. Landscape Architecture – A guide for clients showcases the breadth of expertise within the landscape profession and is designed to inspire new clients to commission similar skills in the future. The Guide contains 38 exemplar projects encompassing housing, regeneration, culture, infrastructure, energy, and health, highlighting the work of landscape architects when it comes to regenerating communities, strengthening social cohesion and creating places of beauty.

LI CPD Sheffield

Sue Illman of Illman Young Landscape Design will be speaking at the Sheffield LI CPD event on 28th March. Sue will give an Introduction to SuDS and the Components of Water Sensitive Design.

Changing Water and Planning Policy Seminar

“Water and Planning: Crossing Boundaries and Bridging Gaps” is a joint workshop forum for the Changing Water and Planning Policy Arena across England and Wales. Sue Illman of Illman Young Landscape Design will be one of the facilitators at a workshop during the seminar being held at the Exhibition and Conference Centre, University of the West of England on Friday 24th February 2012.

Sue Illman seminar at Birmingham City University

A seminar on 30th November 2011 to students at Birmingham City University saw Sue Illman of Illman Young Landscape Design talk about the more interesting aspects of Professional Practice, the value of SuDS and Landscape Visual Impact Assesments. The role that The Landscape Institute plays in the future success of individuals as they progress from education into full time employment was also highlighted.
Site visit to The Quarry, Guildford

Marion Koester from Illman Young Landscape Design on a site visit at The Quarry in Guildford last week. Currently a disused quarry it will be transformed into a new and exclusive development in Guildford. Illman Young Landscape Design are closely involved with the project.
