Grant Aid

Whether we are working with our clients on an education project and seeking funding through Sport England for pitches, or in the rural environment where Countryside Stewardship Grants are required, a good knowledge of the funding process is fundamental to a successful application.

Grants now play an important part of the funding for many projects, and range from the main national sources for art, heritage, and sport, through to small locally focussed grants for a wide range of works.

We have successfully sought funding from a wide range of agencies, both as 'whole site' projects, or for specific elements. Understanding each funder's requirements and criteria for application is an important part of our role.

Whilst the grants available are continually changing, the main sources of funding we have used are:

  • Heritage Lottery Fund
  • Natural England (Countryside Agency)
  • Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund
  • Landfill Tax
  • Sports Councils
  • Forest Enterprise
  • Local councils
  • Private trusts

While many sources of funding can be found, careful consideration must be given to the amount of funding available verses the time and input required to source it. However where suitable funding can been found, careful phasing and management of the works can help in maximising the potential grant aid.
